Our SCRATCH Game Design class is specifically engineered to make coding accessible, thrilling, and deeply personal for kids aged 8-12. Using SCRATCH’s intuitive block-based language, students transform from players into creators by developing a brand-new game or animation every single week. With individual laptops provided by IntelliBricks, students work independently to master unique projects, ranging from “Choose-Your-Own-Adventure” stories to complex arcade-style games.

What Students Learn

Logic & Animation: Master drag-and-drop coding to build animated birthday cards, fireworks displays, and interactive stories.
Game Mechanics: Learn advanced concepts like Variables for score tracking and Cloning to generate multiple game elements.
Custom Design: Go beyond the basics by designing and animating unique Custom Sprites to personalize every project.
Technical Precision: Understand sequencing and timing to create responsive, “choose-your-own-adventure” style gameplay.
Consistent Progress: Build confidence by completing a brand-new, functional game or animation every day or every other day.
Take-Home Portfolio: Receive a USB Pen Drive containing all 4-6 completed projects to keep and share at home.

WEB DEVELOPMENT (HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT)

Whether you’re playing games, doing some shopping, or watching silly videos, a website can be a gateway to a world of fun! So being able to make your own is a lucrative, important, and interesting skill! That’s why we’re offering a new Website Development class! This class will give students an introductory level of knowledge in 3 Coding languages; HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), and Javascript, the three coding languages that make up a vast majority of the sites you’ll visit! Knowing these 3 languages will allow you to create websites that can compete even with the most state of art web frameworks, with HTML to build the foundation of the site, CSS to streamline and improve the visual styling, and Javascript to make your site intuitive and interactive for your users! Web design has never been a more important skill, so sign your student up today! This class will demonstrate:

Basic concepts in web design and web development.
Use of tags, elements, forms, linking, etc. in HTML
Use of padding, spacing, line height, background color and many other styling attributes in CSS.
Improving user friendly traits and client side interactivity with Javascript
Suggested tools and methods that you can use to take your website to the next level.
